Hi everyone!
It's so good to see you all again after the Easter holidays. What did you do during Easter?
I went to Vietnam with my family. It was the first time I have left Hong Kong in 4 years. I was excited but very nervous to fly on an aeroplane again.
For the first part of the holiday we travelled to Hoi An. It was a very beautiful historic city and had lots of delicious food to eat. In the old town, you could ride up and down the river on small sale boats. There was also lots shops, markets and restaurants. I bought a lot of clothes for Mia as it was very cheap.
We also travelled to Ba Na Hills. Ba Na Hills was only a one hour drive from Hoi An. We set off at 7am to get there early. When we arrived we had to take a cable car up to the top of the hill. It is the longest cable car in the world. It was very scary but the views were amazing.
At the top of the hill was the the Golden Bridge. It was a bridge held up by two hands made out of stone. It was an incredible view to behold.
Once we visited the bridge, we went for some food and then travelled back down the hill on the cable car. It was a very long day and we all fell asleep on the car journey home.
During our time in Hoi An we went swimming in the pool every day. Mia loved being in the water. We had to be very careful though as it was very hot. We only went swimming early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
On Easter Sunday we went to an Easter party. At the party the children decorated Easter bunny hats and went on an Easter Egg hunt. It was so much fun.
Lastly, we travelled to Hanoi for two days. In Hanoi we visited the famous prison, Maison Centrale, and many other icon buildings around the city.
During our holiday we ate lots of delicious Vietnamese food icluding: bún bò beef noodles, cơm tấm rice, nem cuốn fresh spring rolls, bánh cuốn filled rice batter pancakes, hở noodle soup, Bún thịt nướng and Banh mi.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my holiday. Please remember to come to the English room or stop me around school to ask me some questions about my holiday or tell me what you did during yours.
See you soon!
